Free Agent players who are signed to a MAX CONTRACT (maximum salary, maximum first and second bid offers), will not be sent to the minors.EXCEPTION: Max Player is ineligible, i.e., under 250 plate appearances.EXCEPTION: Max Player is traded in his 4th year. New club may assign him to the minors.Note: Max Player traded before his 4th year will not be sent to the minors unless ineligible.COMMENTARY: It's time for clubs to be responsible when offering such contracts. Writing checks is easy. Comedy and building championships is hard. Also, it's realistic.
