1. Eligible Relievers (i.e., Openers) designated with a Starters POW (point of weakness) may start a BVL game.
They may pitch only 1 inning above their Starters POW.
2. Specific Openers may only start every six games.
Exception: they’ve made 20+ MLB starts and are declared part of a BVL 5-man rotation.

3. Reliever/Starters are prohibited from starting.
4. Follow the current relievers rest to determine an Openers next relief appearance.
NOTE:
Openers are NOT counted toward meeting the 7 eligible starters requirement.
COMMENTARY The number of Openers (and reliever/starters) are increasing while eligible BVL starters (and starter relievers) are shrinking.
This is a conservative fix to address baseball’s new way of doing things.
Currently, there are 5 Openers on BVL rosters and less than a dozen Openers (#0) available in the draft.
