1. Increase draft salary for Rounds 6 through Round 10 by 1 shekel.
COMMENTARY
Compare the 1947-49 BVL payroll with MLB, the BVL payroll is higher ($145 million to $128 million). The discrepancy lies in player salaries: the MLB average ($4.17 million or 8.34s) is 7 percent higher than the BVL’s ($2.98 million or 5.96s).
Currently, 210s is slotted for each BVL draft. We achieve an 8 percent increase by raising salaries in Rounds 6 through 10 by one shekel.
I believe this conservative step will lead to a proper alignment between BVL and MLB player salaries and will add greater realism for being a BVL owner.
